Supplier Evidence Labels Before Shortlisting China Suppliers

A supplier list is not the same as a supplier shortlist. A list says who might exist. A shortlist should say why a supplier deserves buyer time, sample cost or verification budget.

Evidence labels reduce confusion

JFScope uses labels such as Listed, Sponsored, Profile Reviewed, Factory Visited, Capability Verified and Transaction Tested. These labels do not rank suppliers. They describe what has actually been checked.

Claims are not evidence

A factory photo, sales deck or certificate can be useful, but it should not be treated as complete proof. Buyer teams should separate public records, supplier-submitted information, document checks, field observations and transaction history.

How to use labels in sourcing work

Before paying for introductions or samples, use supplier research to classify the evidence gap. If the gap affects quality, delivery or compliance, move to factory verification. If the risk is acceptable, proceed to RFQ and sample coordination through sourcing execution.
